Boris Andrianov is the inspiration behind and the artistic director of the Star Generation project, which organizes and manages concerts by talented young musicians in cities and regions throughout Russia, the artistic director of the first-ever Russian cello festival VIVACELLO (since 2008), and VIVARTE chamber music festival, which is hosted in the Tretyakov State Gallery since 2016. In 2009, Boris Andrianov was awarded the Russian Federation Prize for Culture for his foundational contribution to the Star Generation project.

Boris Andrianov is a prizewinner at the first International Tchaikovsky Youth Competition, the first International Shostakovich Classica Nova Competition in Hannover (1997), the sixth International Mstislav Rostropovich Cello Competition in Paris (1997), the 11th International Tchaikovsky Competition (1998), the International Antonio Janigro Competition in Zagreb (2000) and the International Isang Yun Competition in South Korea (2003).

Boris Andrianov performs concerts at Russia’s finest venues as well as prestigious concert halls in The Netherlands, Japan, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the USA, Slovakia, Italy, France, South Africa, South Korea, China and other countries. He performs with symphony and chamber orchestras, among them are; Mariinsky Orchestra, Orchestre National de France, Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra, Kammerorchester Berlin, Kammerorchester Wien, Russian National Orchestra, and with such conductors as Valery Gergiev, Vladimir Fedoseyev, Alexander Vedernikov, Vasily Petrenko, Gianandrea Noseda, Roman Kofman and others. Boris Andrianov performs a broad variety of chamber music. His partners include Yuri Bashmet, Leif Ove Andsnes, Akiko Suwanai, Janine Jansen, Julian Rachlin, Denis Matsuev, Alexander Ghindin, Denis Matsuev and many others.

Since 2005, Andrianov plays the “Domenico Montagnana” cello from the Russian State Collection of Unique Musical Instruments.
